Rediscovering Our Kinship With Other Species Through the Language of Emotion

A catalogue of stories of connection and compassion between humans and other species for use in public exhibits. Each story emphasizes what we have in common versus what makes us different, and shows other animals as someones instead of somethings.

What makes a One Language Project Story? Each story we include on the blog and in our exhibits does the following:

  • describes what the person has learned from the non-human animal

  • displays compassion and empathy

  • gives background on the relationship with the animal and their personality

  • demonstrates emotional similarities to humans through observation and intuition

  • has a portrait, audio story or video story produced by founder Miranda Loud and her artistic team.

We are always seeking stories that have these components for sharing in our exhibits. All species are included. If you know someone who might like to be involved, drop us a line!
